Hi, I’m Alison Gillies and I’m the arranger of all the music you’ll find here on quartetpad.com! In my day job, I’m a cellist for Welsh National Opera, but I love finding the time to arrange the latest pop tunes for strings.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world with music, performing with symphony orchestras, West End shows, and dance companies, as well as with pop and crossover artists, like Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Hauser, McFly, Roni Size and Kanye West. I have also recorded soundtracks for film and TV shows, like Black Mirror and David Attenborough’s Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur, and have composed and performed my own music for BBC radio.

I began arranging for strings in 2002 after I left music college, and I haven’t looked back! My arrangements are now played and enjoyed by ensembles around the world, and I am pleased to be an Exclusive Arranger for Hal Leonard’s ArrangeMe Service.
